Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, UAE minister of state for international cooperation, and Melinda Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, held a meeting on Wednesday to review joint efforts in global health and empowerment of women and girls.
The two also discussed ways to further strengthen the close partnership between the UAE and the Foundation.
This was among a series of meetings held by the UAE delegation on the sidelines of the second day of the ongoing 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Al Hashemy also met with Vuk Jeremić, former minister of foreign affairs of Serbia.
She also met with Tanja Fajon, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of Slovenia, and Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres, minister of foreign affairs of Nicaragua.
Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, minister of state, participated in a roundtable ministerial meeting on regional stability and cooperation in the Middle East.
Al Marar also delivered a speech during the joint ministerial meeting between GCC and the UK, besides attending a closed ministerial roundtable on pathways for sustainable peace and security 20 years after the Arab Peace Initiative.
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, minister of state, met with Wavel Ramkalawan, president of Seychelles to discuss bilateral ties, particularly in the trade, tourism, and investment fields.
Al Nahyan also met with Ali Bongo Ondimba, president of Gabonese to discuss strengthening bilateral relationship and ongoing coordination in the security council.
Al Nahyan also held meetings with heads and foreign ministers of several African and Caribbean countries.
