Saudi non-oil exports hit $7.3bn last month, oil exports fall 15.5% in a year

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) announced that the value of non-oil exports, including re-exports, reached SR27.5bn ($7.3bn) in August 2024 compared to SR25.6bn ($6.8bn) in August 2023, marking an increase of SR1.9bn ($506m), or 7.4 per cent.

The authority’s International Trade Bulletin for August 2024 indicated that the value of oil exports in August 2024 stood at SR65.3bn ($17.4bn) compared to SR77.3bn ($20.6bn) in August 2023, marking a decrease of SR12bn ($3.2bn), or 15.5 per cent.

The bulletin also showed a decline in merchandise exports in August 2024, amounting to SR92.8bn ($24.7bn) compared to SR102.9bn ($27.4bn) in August 2023, indicating a drop of SR10.1bn ($2.7bn), or 9.8 per cent.

Meanwhile, the value of the Kingdom’s merchandise imports in August 2024 reached SR64.8bn ($17.3bn) compared to SR67.4bn ($17.9bn) in August 2023, decreasing by SR2.6bn ($692m), or 3.9 per cent.
