Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has issued a set of royal decrees to appoint key leaders and ensure development in the kingdom’s Taif, Al-Ahsa, Jeddah, and Northern Borders regions.
The set of laws, regulations, orders, and royal decrees were passed after the recommendations of the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman were reviewed, the state-run Saudi Press Agency reported.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz has established a commission for the development of the Taif region in Saudi Arabia. The authority will have a Board of Directors whose chairman and members will be appointed by order of the Prime Minister.
The Ruler of Saudi Arabia also ordered the Experts Committee within the Council of Ministers – in coordination with the relevant authorities it deems appropriate – to prepare the necessary organisational requirements, including defining the supervisory scope of the competence of that body, and completing the necessary procedures for that.
King Salman also established a similar authority for the development of Al-Ahsa, with a Board of Directors whose chairman and members will be appointed by order of the Prime Minister.
The Saudi King also announced a slew of senior appointments, including Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud Al Saud as Governor of Taif; Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Governor of Al-Ahsa; Prince Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as the Deputy Governor of the Northern Borders Region; and Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Mansour bin Abdullah bin Jalawi Al Saud as the Governor of Jeddah.
