Property owners in Kuwait will be deported by the municipality, if found renting their property to bachelors.
The move is part of the Kuwait Municipality’s efforts to curb the growing issue of bachelors residing in private and model housing.
The new decision was revealed by Acting Director General of Kuwait Municipality, Eng. Saud Al-Dabbous, and was reached during a recent committee meeting dedicated to addressing the phenomenon, according to a report by Al-Rai daily.
Kuwait’s stance on bachelor accommodation
Under the new procedure, property owners caught renting their premises to bachelors will face two citations.
The first citation pertains to building violations, while the second citation specifically targets the act of accommodating bachelors in private and model housing.
This strict approach aims to hold both property owners and foreign investors accountable for their roles in facilitating this issue.
Eng. Saud Al-Dabbous further disclosed that the Municipality has been closely monitoring approximately 1,156 houses across various private and model residential areas.
These locations have been identified as housing arrangements primarily used by bachelors.
