Kuwaiti residents whose citizenship has been revoked may be given special identification cards to make life easier, Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs Major General Sheikh Mazen Al Jarrah has revealed.

The Ministry of Interior was considering the special civil IDs to allow recipients to modify their legal status in the country and to ease their movements, medical treatments and studies, Al Jarrah said in a statement published by Arab Times.

The Ministry is calculating how many people would be affected.

Kuwait has revoked the citizenship of some accused of crimes against the country or of offending the Emir, among other reasons.
