Visitors and expatriates arriving in Kuwait will now be fingerprinted each time they go through immigration as part of new security measures, according to local media.

The fingerprints will be used to identify alleged criminals or anyone who has changed their passport details in a bid to evade arrest, a security source told local Arabic daily Al Rai.

Few tourists travel to the small Gulf state but it is home to more than 2 million foreigner workers and authorities are concerned some who are deported attempt to return using fake passports or under a new name.
