Four in five jobs at Makkah’s hotels and tourist resorts will be staffed by Saudis within months, according to the province’s Ministry of Labour and Social Development.
The plan, part of the Kingdom’s Saudisation push, will see nationals in 80 percent of tourism roles by the end of 2016, reported the Saudi Gazette.
Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Olayyan, director of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development branch in Makkah province, said the plan will be carried out in cooperation with the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) and Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf).
During an inspection of the headquarters of the First Saudisation Forum for Accommodation Sector Occupations in Makkah, Al Olayyan said Saudi employees must be disciplined, punctual and diligent.
He called on young Saudis jobseekers to register on the Ministry’s ‘Taqat’ website, the SCTH website and with the Hadaf program.
