Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has invited young Emirati men and women to apply for the position of Minister of Youth in the UAE government.

“To our young men and women in the UAE, I am looking for a distinguished young man or woman who can represent youth issues, convey their opinions and follow up on the government files that interest them,” Sheikh Mohammed said in an announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The visionary leader outlined the key attributes expected of the potential Minister of Youth, emphasising that they should be “familiar with the issues of their homeland, aware of the reality of their society, field in their work, rational in their presentation, courageous and strong in representing their country, passionate about serving the soil of their homeland.”

This move highlights the UAE’s commitment to harnessing the potential and ideas of its youth.

Interested candidates have been directed to demonstrate their competence, ability, and integrity by reaching out to the Council of Ministers through the email address.

So far, the government has received around 4,700 applicants for the position of Minister of Youth.

This initiative builds upon previous efforts to empower young Emiratis in government roles.

In 2016, Shamma bint Sohail Faris Al Mazrui was appointed as the Minister of State for Youth Affairs, earning the distinction of being the world’s youngest minister at just 22 years old.

The UAE’s dedication to youth empowerment is further reflected in initiatives such as the Emirates Youth Council, which represents the interests of the youth within the government.

These efforts underline the nation’s commitment to nurturing its young talents and integrating them into key decision-making roles.
