Progress in the implementation of the Fifty-Year Charter, the vision of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is “very promising”, according to the emirate’s Crown Prince.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also chairman of the Executive Council, said that streamlining effort and aligning seamlessly work of various entities are key to achieve the objectives of the charter, which aims to improve various aspects of life in Dubai.
Sheikh Hamdan said that he is closely following up the implementation of the charter.
He urged concerned authorities to maintain this momentum to achieve the objectives, to ensure prosperity and progress. He also praised efforts of all those involved in the implementation of the nine chapters of the charter.
Sheikh Hamdan’s remarks came as he chaired a meeting of The Executive Council at Emirates Towers, where he reviewed the progress of work of the various programmes that seek to implement the the nine chapters of the charter and was briefed about the next steps.
“The 50-year Charter is a futuristic vision that is for the journey of Dubai, and an engine for its development journey in the future, which will allow it to keep pace with global development, and maintain its economic diversification and its sustainability for a better future for future generations. That’s why the close follow up of the implementation of the 50-year charter tops our priorities,” he said.
“Progress rate of accomplishments are very promising, and I am confident of the ability of my team to achieve the objectives of the charter. With extra efforts and creativity, we will make the leap in our development journey, and to place Dubai in the position that Sheikh Mohammed has clearly outlined in the nine chapters of the charter,” he added.
During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed about progress on the Dubai Silk Road strategy prepared by the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), which focuses on enhancing trade between free zones and the rest of the UAE and enhancing logistics services between DP World terminals across the world with Emirates airlines playing a key role.
Other initiatives that he was briefed about included Dubai Blink, the world’s first B2B smart commerce platform which will use artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and virtual business licences, allowing companies from around the world to connect and trade via Dubai.
