The UAE and Egypt have agreed to boost bilateral investment, industrial and commercial ties.
The agreement came during a two-day UAE-Egypt Economic Committee meeting held in Cairo, headed by UAE Minister of the Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri and Egyptian Trade Minister Tarek Kabil.
At the meeting, the two sides reviewed opportunities to improve cooperation in 13 sectors, including trade, customs, industry, technology, tourism, finance, metrology, electricity, renewable energy, transport, aviation and water resources management.
According to Al Mansouri, trade between the two countries reached $4.8 billion at the end of 2016, making the UAE among the top 10 of Egypt’s global trade partners.
The total volume of non-oil trade between Egypt and the UAE reached $3.6 billion in the first nine months of 2017, according to government statistics.
