Afternoon Tea: high-end choices in Dubai

Tea with a side of a chocolate fountain and Burj Khalifa views?

Afternoon tea is always a good idea. How else are you going to fulfil your hunger after lunch when dinner is hours away? You know what else is a good idea? Glamorous, luxurious, high-end afternoon teas. So behold, the best choices in Dubai (according to us):

Al Fayrooz Lounge at Al Qasr, Madinat Jumeirah:
nImagine a massive oriental-designed living room in an Arabic-style mansion – that is exactly what Al Fayrooz in Al Qasr hotel looks. And its afternoon tea is just as impressive as its decor. Among its highlights is an unlimited refill of sandwiches and a chocolate fountain.
nPrice: AED185 per person or AED285 per person with a glass of champagne.

At.Mosphere Lounge, Burj Khalifa:
nAfternoon tea at the world’s tallest building? Yes please. The Burj’s lounge, located on the 122nd floor, offers gold-flecked pastries, Beluga caviar, and oysters as well as your usual finger sandwiches.
nPrice: Starts at AED320 and goes up to AED1,000 per person if you want the caviar, oysters, and a glass of champagne.

Fortnum & Mason, Downtown Dubai:
nSpecialising in tea, Fortnum & Mason is a great option for afternoon tea in Dubai. Its afternoon tea includes tea-cakes, mini sandwiches, scones, and clotted cream and jam. The venue itself is utterly classy with a blue and gold colour scheme plus a view over Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain.
nPrice: AED245 or AED275 depending on tea selection.

Skyview Bar, Burj Al Arab:
nNot many people can say that they’ve had afternoon tea in the world’s only 7-star hotel, so we recommend being one of them and visiting Skyview Bar at the Burj Al Arab. The bar, which is, by the way, located on the 27th floor so has amazing sea views, offers a 7-course extravaganza consisting of sandwiches, pastries, and cakes.
nPrice: AED620 per person.

The Farm, Al Barari:
nYou don’t get the chance to have high-end afternoon tea at farms anywhere in Dubai. This is what makes the experience at The Farm in Al Barari special. It’s surrounded by lush greenery and the snacks include mini open-sandwiches, dessert, and fresh scones with cream and jam. The Farm has indoor and outdoor seating.
nPrice: AED125 per person or AED 230 for two people.

Al Bayt, The Palace Downtown:
nThis afternoon tea has an oriental twist as it includes bite-size chicken shawarma, kofte finger sandwiches, saffron and cardamom scones, and Arabic dessert. But the real twist here is the violin player, a cappuccino dusted with 22-carat gold, and views of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain.
nPrice: AED150 per person.

The Samovar Lounge, One and Only Royal Mirage:
nOne of our favourite places for afternoon, Samova offers closed finger sandwiches, scones, biscuits, individual cakes, Arabic sweets, and pastries. And while it has delicious food, we love Samovar for its cosy, very luxurious décor and positive feel.
nPrice: AED75 per person.

The Lotus Lounge, Anantara Resort & Spa The Palm Jumeirah:
nWho doesn’t like a drive down to Dubai’s man-made island? We do, especially if it’s to go to the famously romantic and soothing resort, Anantara. If you’re a fan of the hotel brand, like we are, you’ll like its relaxing atmosphere for afternoon tea. It includes a selection of sandwiches, freshly bakes scones, mini pastries, and a selection of tea.
nPrice: AED 145 per person.

Sahn Eddar, Burj Al Arab:
nIf you’re not a fan of high-floor venues, you can head down to the Burj’s lobby lounge, Sahn Eddar, for afternoon tea. It includes a diverse selection of sandwiches and dessert, but we love the venue’s luxurious gold décor the most.
nPrice: AED560 per person.

Peacock Alley, Waldorf Astoria The Palm Jumeirah:
nThe Waldorf Astoria’s famed Peacock Alley is known for its large selection of tea. The venue has two afternoon tea version, a ‘London-style’ one and ‘Parisian’ one. Both include different kinds of finger sandwiches, pastries, and mini cakes.
nPrice: AED150 for the London version or AED165 for Parisian version.
