Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the immediate allocation of 2,000 residential land plots for Emiratis.
The plots are located in the Umm Nahad Fourth district, a desert area that sits between Al Qudra and Al Ain roads.
“We continuously follow up on the housing programme files to implement His Highness’ directives to provide all the needs of citizens and enhance their quality of life,” Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said in a statement.
Eligible Emiratis, with priority to family members within the same district, will be able to select the plots they want through a government application. The plots will then be distributed from July 27.
Sheikh Mohammed has also approved raising the value of housing loan for Dubai citizens to AED1 million with no interest. Other housing benefits for Emiratis include reduction of monthly loan repayments and exemption from electricity connection fees to first time home owners.
The recent move is part of Dubai’s housing programme for citizens. The emirate’s ruler earlier approved a housing budget amounting to AED65 billion for the next 20 years.
