Oil prices rise amid Middle East tensions

Brent crude futures rose 12 cents, or about 0.2 percent, to $78.27 a barrel

Oil prices edged up on Tuesday, reportedly reacting to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.

Brent crude futures rose 12 cents, or about 0.2 percent, to $78.27 a barrel in morning trading hours.

Crude oil closed 14 cents lower on Monday.

US West Texas Intermediate crude fell 17 cents, or 0.2 percent to $72.52 a barrel.
