The chairman of Abu Dhabi’s largest property company catapulted Aldar onto the international stage with plans to develop Ferrari and Warner Bros-branded theme parks in the emirate.
Al Sayegh’s Aldar controls a property portfolio with an estimated worth of US$65 billion and that is likely to escalate in 2008 as it pushes out into North Africa with several large-scale real estate projects planned.
Flush with cash from a record year, Aldar is also likely to become a familiar name within the European and possibly US real estate industries as it looks for possible acquisitions to grow sales. As the largest developer in Abu Dhabi, it is an unrivalled position to tap the emirate’s growing oil wealth.
