Darwish Holding was the brainchild of the late Abdullah Al Darwish, one of a line of prominent Qatari traders, and his brothers Jassem and Abdul Rahman. Today, Darwish Holding has seven core businesses: Darwish Retail Services, Darwish Commercial, Darwish Real Estate, Darwish Investments, Darwish Industries, Darwish Business Services and Darwish Ventures.
Its chairman is Bader Al Darwish, a man well known for his philanthropic work. In September this year he received an honorary plaque for his donations to the field of social development in Lebanon. One of the donations was allocated for the reconstruction of the Ministry of Social Affairs centres in Bab Al Tebane, Baqerzla and Tikrit in Northern Lebanon.
The ceremony was held at the Lebanese Cabinet headquarters and in the presence of the acting prime minister, Fouad al Siniora, and Qatar’s ambassador to Lebanon.
