Rajeev Kakar has a fair amount on his plate. As well as founding the UAE’s Dunia Finance, which provides financing assistance, credit and loans to the SME sector, Kakar is also the executive vice president and regional CEO for Fullerton Financial Holdings, the 100%-owned subsidiary of Singapore’s Temasek investment vehicle. With more than two decades in the banking industry, Kakar’s impressive CV also includes a stint as regional head and CEO for Citibank’s Global Consumer Bank, managing the Turkey, Middle East and Africa portfolio. He is also a member of the global advisory board for the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Despite its youth, Kakar hopes that Dunia Finance will break even in 2011.
