An international powerhouse in the supply chain sector, CEVA Logistics has recently allocated $800m to develop its presence in the Middle East. Playing an influential role in the decision making process for this generous budget is 50-year old Shamsudeen Ahmed, the company’s regional director. Prior to joining CEVA in September 2007, Ahmed had three decades of experience with other leading players from the industry, including the likes of Panalpina World Transport, Schenker AG and Exel Middle East. The Indian graduate, who studied a degree in marine management, is now responsible for a growing network of warehouse facilities throughout the region, including CEVA’s flagship Middle East headquarters, which was opened in the heart of Jebel Ali Free Zone South in October 2009.
