The International Indian School, Jeddah is a secondary school for boys and girls. It was founded in 1969. The school slogan is “Knowledge is Light”. At one time reputed to be the second largest school in Asia, in the 70’s the children of Indian expatriates in Saudi Arabia had no option but to attend Saudi schools in which the medium of teaching was Arabic. Rafiuddin Fazulbhoy founded the school and late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi laid the foundation stone. Today it has nearly 18,000 students.
