Menon began his career at the age of 24 when he set up an interior decoration firm in the Sultanate of Oman in 1976. The Kerala-born entrepreneur has now grown to be one of the world’s top billionaires and was ranked number 754 in Forbes’ 2007 rich list. Named after his wife, Menon set up Sobha Developers Ltd in 1995, which is one of the largest companies in Oman’s construction industry. With more than 35 years of experience in the field of construction and real estate development, Menon has remained the firm’s chairman. Since its inception, the company has completed 47 residential projects, thirteen commercial projects and 166 contractual projects covering about 36 million sq ft area in 18 cities across India.
