Tayem Hassan began his career on the small screen, starring in a range of Arabic TV shows including ‘Al Aar’, a social drama series set in Syria and directed by Rasha Sharbatji.
Hassan has broken the barrier into movies, with a starring role in the Egyptian film ‘Michano’, his first crossover into the Middle East’s largest movie market. The film, in which Hassan played an architect with amnesia, won critical acclaim from critics and fans — so much so that Tayem has had to publicly apologise to a demanding Egyptian public for scaling back his television appearances in favour of pursuing his promising movie career.
More recently, Hassan has starred in television drama ‘Abid Karman’, which was banned from the airwaves due to the portrayal of the Egyptian security forces.
