In 2016 Mohammed Zaal left his role as COO of Al Barari and set up his own real estate company, Koa which focuses on a more holistic understanding of the human connection between people and their surroundings.
His first solo project was Koa Canvas, a mixed-use development in Dubai created for millennials who “value their individuality”. It offers retail and residences, including 70 apartments, a co-working space, an amphitheatre, gourmet market and landscaped areas using indigenous plants. Zaal worked with T.Zed Architects’ Tarik Al Zaharna to build a space where people can live, work and play, in minimalist style.
Koa aims to revitalise urban developments and lead Dubai’s real estate industry into a new era of cultural and urban enrichment that contributes to the soul of a dynamic new Dubai.
What sets Koa apart as a development company is that it focuses on small-scale projects that have more substance than others.
