Al Neyadi holds a doctorate degree in Information Technology and a Master’s in Information and Network Security from Griffith University, Australia where he won an Award of Excellence for his performance.
Born in the emirate of Al Ain in 1981, he previously worked as an engineer for the UAE Armed Forces – where his work specialised in network security and entailed him to travel to more than 20 countries around the world – before joining the UAE Astronaut Programme.
In 2019, he was selected from 4,022 applicants after a series of advanced medical and psychological tests and will take part in the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre’s mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
He has internationally published studies in his role as an academic research scientist and won the Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Award for Scientific Achievement in 2017.
