When Labayh was first developed in 2017, research by the startup revealed that 40 percent of Saudis have sleep disorders, and 30 percent have anxiety. The stress of living with coronavirus, and the lockdowns it induced, has only exacerbated mental health situations: Labayh’s 120 mental health practitioners carried out 25,000 online consultations last year alone, Albeladi told Arabian Business in an interview early 2021.
Labayh provide services remotely and offer 24/7 access to professional consultants anywhere and anytime. Albeladi has won social entrepreneurship awards for his work.
Future plans for Labayh include securing therapists from each of the countries they have patients in as a cultural understanding of issues is an important aspect of therapy.
Payment facilities where patients can book a consultation and pay two weeks later are also in the works to make treatment more accessible for those who need it.
