In her official position as the Chairperson of the Infrastructure, Technology, Industrial & Consumer Solutions (ITICS) cluster at Mohsin Haider Darwish LLC (MHD) – one of the oldest businesses in Oman, she presides over a complex and varied group of businesses. 

Darwish was elected to the country’s consultative council – Majlis A’ Shuraa, one of only seven women to be elected since its inception, and holds the distinction of having been elected twice to this position.

In November 2015, she was appointed member of the State Council (Upper House) by Royal Decree. A graduate in English Literature from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), she began her career as a lecturer at SQU, before joining the family business.
