Hyther Nizam joined Zoho Corp in 1998 and has been with the company since then in various roles. In his current position that he assumed in 2018, Nizam is responsible for developing the go-to-market strategies, partnerships and customer relations in the MEA region. Under his leadership, the region has become the fastest growing for the company.
Zoho is one of the world’s most prolific software companies, providing a single platform, Zoho One, which is capable of running an entire business through 40 integrate web applications in nearly every major business category, including sales, marketing, customer support, accounting and back office operations, and an array of productivity and collaboration tools. The cost? AED100 per employee per month.
Its most revolutionary offering, Zoho One, was introduced in the UAE last year following a successful launch in the United States and several European countries.
Nizam said at the time, “The UAE is an important market for us. We have seen more and more companies move to the cloud and benefit from it.”
In November 2017, Zoho launched the VAT-ready, FTA-approved edition of Zoho Books, the company’s accounting software.
“After the implementation of VAT in January, regional subscriptions to Zoho Books have tripled. As a result of that tremendous success, we’re bringing our entire suite to the UAE to help local businesses operate completely in the cloud,” Nizam said.
Recently, the company launched an e-commerce software that allows businesses in the region to easily set up an online store. Zoho Commerce is bolstered by AI-assistant Zia, is VAT-compliant, and integrates with several payment gateways, including PayTabs.
Nizam, who is an engineer by education, is hands-on with product development. In the initial days of the launch of zoho.com, Nizam was deeply involved in the building of products like the low-code platform Zoho Creator. He currently manages the development of around one third of the 45+ products of Zoho’s portfolio, including website builder Zoho Sites and e-commerce app, Commerce.
True to Zoho’s philosophy, Hyther is a firm believer that software is his craft.
Headquartered in Chennai, India, Zoho plans on remaining a private company to maintain its independence and focus on catering to consumers. It currently has nearly 7,000 employees across the globe.
The company also boasts a comprehensive program called Zoho University to hire high school students and train them, with over 15 percent of its engineers graduating from the programme. “Not only is the programme good for our company, it is also good for the communities we live in,” the company said.
