Nashwa Al Ruwaini is a prominent and highly recognised UAE national who has vast experience in the media field and a career history that has led to her being acknowledged as one of the  leading media and business personalities in the region. 

She is currently board member and CEO of Pyramedia – Media Production and Consultancy, CEO of Al Joude Investments, CEO of Al Joude Advertising and Publicity, as well as CEO of Delma Medical Centre and founder of Nashwa Jewellery, an exclusive pearl collection and Al Majlis restaurant and café chain. Al Ruwaini is also the founder and chairperson of the Nashwa Foundation, a charity that is dedicated to philanthropic work across the Arab world.

Her award-winning company, Pyramedia, is renowned in the Middle East for having produced several significant and popular television shows that have been aired across the region, which include The Millions Poet and Prince of Poets, cultural shows that have helped to preserve Arab poetic culture and heritage, which is a cause Al Ruwaini says she is highly dedicated to, as well as the Morning Show, Evening Show and talent show Al Zaman Al Jameel.

Al Ruwaini was also the co-founder and board member of the Middle East Film Festival in Abu Dhabi, which was later renamed the Abu Dhabi Film Festival – a significant event that has global reach and attracts a number of international film stars every year. 

Additionally, she was appointed member of the jury for the International Digital Emmy and member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in the US. She also pioneered the Muslims on Screen and Television, a project that aims to improve the image of Muslims on television and in films all across the globe.

With her expertise in media consulting, Al Ruwaini has a very strong portfolio of government and private sector clients across the Middle East. She was also consulted for the casting  of Hollywood blockbusters such as Kingdom of Heaven, Pirates of the Caribbean, Syriana and Aladdin. Al Ruwaini is also known for her dedication to women and children’s rights in the Arab world and is part of many regional and international organisations which support various causes.
