Ahmed Abdulla Alhammadi

Alhammadi is the representative for the United Arab Emirates in the International Roads Federation. He is also heading the roads quality committee in the United Arab Emirates and has 20 years’ experience in infrastructural projects and has been always a supporter of innovation and development in governmental projects.

Taking responsibility for new project developments in the roads department, he helped establish the Roads Asset Management System and the Intelligent Transportation System. In addition to that, he was part of the team honoured with the IRF award in asset preservation and maintenance management.

Alhammadi was the project manager of one of the most iconic bridges in Ras Alkhaima, which was awarded the World’s Largest Metal Buried Bridge by the Guinness World Records.

He established the Advanced Bridge Condition Assessment Index that helps assess and measure the condition of bridges across the country where such indices contributed highly to leveraging the country’s ranking in global competitiveness reports.

His recent works involved the development of the street lighting network in the Northern Emirates. The retrofitting of more than 14,000 street light poles results in improving the driving performance for road users, as well as reducing the energy consumption and carbon emissions by 55 percent.

Alhammadi’s efforts in developing the federal roads network are not over and he has many great upcoming projects in the pipeline, which he hopes will help to achieve the UAE Government’s vision of creating a better future for road users, while at the same time meeting the highest safety standards.
