A former analyst at JP Morgan, Olayan oversees the Middle East operations of global private investment company Olayan Group, a diversified company founded by her father Sulaiman in 1947. Olayan started working at the company in 1983, alongside her father, who developed Olayan Group to become a leading diversified enterprise in Saudi Arabia and a major participant in global investing.
She is the CEO of Olayan Financing Company, the holding entity of Olayan Group’s full operations in Saudi and the Middle East. The Olayan Group was valued at more that even five years ago was valued at $10 billion by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Olayan was appointed deputy chair of Alawwal Bank in 2014 and will be chairperson of what will be the third-largest lender in Saudi Arabia, following the merger of Saudi British Bank and Alawwal Bank, becoming the first woman in her country to run a publicly traded bank.
