A former president of the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain, Dr Rafia Ghubash currently serves as President of the Arab Network for Women in Science and Technology, which helps women scientists reach leadership positions and works to attract more women in the region to science.
A practicing psychiatrist, in 2012 she opened the first museum in the UAE dedicated solely to the accomplishments of women from around the Gulf region.
