In addition to being the chief executive of her production company, Nayla Al Khaja Films, Al Khaja is also the founder of the Scene Club, Dubai’s first independent film club that now boasts more than 22,000 members.
In 2006, she was awarded the Best Emirati Filmmaker award at DIFF and in 2017 won the jury’s special prize for short fiction at the Italian Movie Awards, which was followed by another award at the RAK Fine Arts Festival in 2018.
