Midmac is involved in some of Qatar’s biggest projects and the company boasts an average annual turnover of $500mn.

Its chairman, Mohamed Ali Al Kubaisi, is one of the driving forces behind the company, which has been heavily involved in a number of key projects in Qatar, including the Doha Convention Centre and the iconic Tornado Tower.

In June last year, Midmac’s joint venture with Turkish firm Yuksel received $460mn in funds from Al Khaliji Commercial Bank to support its infrastructure work at Lusail. The funds cover work on the CP4 road development package.

The primary infrastructure works involves the construction of the A1 and A6 highway, including the southern and marina interchanges, a combined length of roads measuring 5.2km.

Midmac is also benefitting from Qatar’s infrastructure growth in other ways. The company has a joint venture with Tarmac which produces and installs asphalt for roads, a block factory, a plant and equipment hire arm, and a steel fabrication arm.

The company, which has over 6,000 employees, has been operating since the 1960s. Since 2005, it has been owned by Qatar Investment and Project Development Co.
