SN Subrahmanyan has been with Mumbai-based contractor Larsen & Toubro since 1984. Beyond the firm’s Indian homeland, he has led its graduation from a civils contractor to a significant EPC player, especially in the Middle East, where it has secured the contract to build Salalah Airport in Oman.
Other recent orders have seen it win places on consortiums building the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia and the Doha Metro Gold Line in Qatar. It has also picked up an EPC contract with Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation for phase XI substations, the Al-Wakrah bypass road in Qatar, airside works at Abu Dhabi airport, and the Batinah Expressway in Oman. Subrahmanyan is also a board member of India’s Construction Industry Development Council.
