During that time, the company has completed iconic Dubai projects such as The Gate and The Index buildings at Dubai International Financial Centre, the first six towers at Dubai Marina and the JW Marriott Marquis hotel at Business Bay.

Like many other contractors, the company has had jobs that have been on its books for a number of years as projects stalled, but many of these have seen significant progress over the past 12 months. At Tamouh’s City of Lights on Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, for instance, the company topped out the C1 tower – the biggest of 13 planned at the site – in July last year and is working towards completion. Similarly, Omniyat’s Opus Tower in Dubai’s Business Bay has also picked up activity in recent months and will contain a Melia By ME hotel when it completes next year.

The firm also continued to pick up projects, like the Masdar Headquarters building that is now nearing completion in Abu Dhabi and the Downtown Doha project, where it is part of a consortium building the $411mn Phase 1C.

Newer projects include the 73-storey The Address The BLVD project for Emaar being built near the Burj Khalifa that is set to top out in early 2015, while in Jumeirah Lakes Towers Brookfield Multiplex has been appointed by master developer DMCC to deliver One JLT – a ‘glass box’ office building in the heart of the zone targeting international firms.
