Muriya is a joint venture between Orascom Development Holdings and Omran, Oman’s tourism development arm. Selim had previously spent eight years with Orascom in Egypt. Recently, Muriya completed the first five holes of the 18-hole golf course at Jebel Sifah, its integrated tourism complex (ITC) near Muscat. The beachside destination has a hotel, marina and a community of apartments and villas.
Meanwhile at Salalah Beach, its second ITC in the Sultanate, the Rotana Salalah opened in March. The 400-room, family-focused hotel is the second to open at the site, the first being the Muriya-operated, Juweira0 Boutique Hotel.
