Wael Al Lawati was appointed CEO of Omran in 2007 following his instrumental role in launching The Wave, Muscat, Oman’s first integrated tourism complex.
As CEO, Al Lawati oversees the Government of Oman’s tourism development and investment efforts. Omran is currently developing a growing portfolio of projects which are geographically spread throughout the country, including Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre complex, which will eventually feature four hotels, two business parks and the biggest retail mall in the country. It is also planning resorts in Musandam, has opened Alila Jabal Akhdar, and manages the Mussanah resort that was developed for the Second Asian Beach Games in 2010.
