Dubai Municipality has recently launched an intensive monitoring campaign aimed at evaluating the adherence of men’s salons and beauty centres across the emirate to health and safety standards.
The campaign, which began in September 2023, focuses on the cleaning and sanitising of equipment and the use of quality products, with the main objective of ensuring public health protection and the application of the best safety standards.
According to the Municipality, the campaign has yielded remarkable outcomes, with a commitment rate of nearly 90 percent among the salons.
This response is attributed to the implementation of health and safety control measures, which were reinforced through follow-up visits and awareness workshops for salon staff during inspections.
These sessions emphasised the importance of proper sanitisation, disinfection of instruments, and the reduction of disease transmission risks.
Dubai Municipality’s salon hygiene campaign
Since its initiation, the campaign has covered 566 salons in 47 different areas of Dubai.
The Municipality is committed to complying with international regulations and best practices, placing significant emphasis on the cleanliness of tools, appropriate sterilisation and disinfection procedures, and the availability of sufficient supplies of single-use tools.
The Municipality has announced that the campaign will continue to encompass all areas of Dubai, with a target of assessing 2,965 men’s salons.
It has urged community members to actively cooperate by reporting any instances of malpractice, thereby contributing to the Municipality’s vision of positioning Dubai as one of the safest global cities.
To facilitate reporting, community members can file a report through the Department’s official communication channels, including the Municipality’s Call Center (800900), which operates 24/7, or via Dubai Municipality’s smart apps.
