It’s almost impossible to forget the feeling we get when we stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai.
The welcome we receive when we talk through the doors of the Mediterranean-style hotel, the warmth of the staff that exchange greetings as though we have been lifelong friends and the cosy yet luxurious setting of the wooden mashrabiyas and glistening chandeliers across the property – it all feels like we have stepped into our home away from home (albeit, a much more luxurious home, but we don’t mind).
It’s as though the hotel was created around the ultimate relaxation vacation: an adults-only pool offers privacy that many of The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai’s competitors lack, its location at the beginning of the Jumeirah Beach Residence stretch of beach boasts a more secluded and serene ambiance, while its abundance of lush gardens take your mind off and away from the stress of daily life.
And though the hotel’s design is one of the main reasons we keep going back to The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai, we found ourselves falling particularly in love with its spa.
Amaseena is famous for its Arabic buffet and romantic setting
Walking past rose petals floating in fountains, we headed to the spa’s own outdoor pool to enjoy a swim before indulging in a 30-minute shoulder and back massage that targeted all the right muscle knots we accumulated from hours of slouching in front of our computers. The spa at the hotel boasts 12 treatment rooms and hot and cold plunge pools – although all we wanted to do after our massage was take a nap.
Still, we couldn’t resist trying guest favourite Amaseena. Designed with Bedouin-inspired tents scattered in a rather romantic (but also family and group-friendly) outdoor setting, the Arabic restaurant is famous for its open buffet that features traditional, signature Middle Eastern dishes such as lamb chops, shawarma, mezza and even grilled lobster.
If we have one warning about the restaurant, it would be to keep your stomachs empty. The meat and fish are freshly cooked, extremely tender and truly rich in flavour. If you’re not done for the night, pop over to the Library Bar for a nightcap and classic cigar. It even feels as though we are winding down in our own living room.
But as we’ve mentioned before, The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai feel like home.
