Celebrity YouTuber Casey Neistat, whose review video of Emirates First Class suite went viral last year, has created another video of the new cabin, in which he said it feels “more like a small but extremely elegant hotel room than it does an airplane seat.”
Neistat, who has over 8 million subscribers on YouTube, flew on board Emirates’ 777 Boeing, which features the first class suites designed in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, on a flight from Brussels to Dubai.
Each suite in the cabin, which Emirates called a “hotel in the sky,” measures at 40 square feet and features two digital TV screens, one of which the airline claims is the largest of its kind at 32 inches.
The suites also boast custom-controlled mood lighting and climate as well as virtual windows that use real-time cameras on the plane to project a high-definition outdoor view.In the video, Neistat said the leg room “borders on ridiculous.”
“Leg room is always a big deal when flying… You could fit a small family down here. If you are 7 or 8 feet tall, you couldn’t use up all this legroom. If you were a circus clown wearing stilts, you couldn’t use up all this leg room” he said, before pointing out small lights in the carpet.
The seats in the suites have a “zero-gravity” lounging position that removes pressure for ultimate comfort.
Neistat tests the video call room service option, which he calls “outrageous,” and attempts to fly a mini drone inside the room. The video also shows him skateboarding inside the airplane.
While the 777 does not features showers available on the larger A380, the bathrooms are spacious and house luxury Bvlgari toiletries.
The suites are the world’s first fully enclosed private rooms.
Neistat said the cabin is “All it’s cracked up to be. It was everything I ever wanted.”
