Rose Leslie, who plays Ygritte in the fictional television series Game of Thrones, chose Lebanese fashion brand Elie Saab for her wedding dress as she tied the knot with co-star Kit Harington, who plays the role of King of the North, Jon Snow.
The modest, floor-sweeping gown features signature elements by the world renowned designer, including lace sleeves, a tight waist and a romantic, trailing veil. Paired with it was a floral crown and delicate, white bouquet.
The actors initially met on the set of the HBO show in 2012, where Ygritte plays Snow’s love interest. They had announced their engagement nine months earlier, before officially wedding on Saturday in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and later enjoying a reception at Leslie’s family estate, Lickleyhead Castle.
Attending the intimate ceremony were co-stars Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark and Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark. Emilia Clarke, who portrays Daenerys Targaryen, was also pictured arriving at the venue.
As for Elie Saab, he is known as the King of the Red Carpet, having dressed the likes of Queen Rania, Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie and many more. He is most famous for his dreamy, embellished and highly detailed haute couture dresses. He once made a wedding dress with diamonds and emeralds that required so much labour it sold for an alleged $2.4m.
