Like the world’s richest people, the animal kingdom, especially the feline section, has also earned or inherited a few million dollars. As unusual as it sounds, it is a matter-of-fact true.

In a recent report by All About Cats, three cats have made it to the top 10 richest pet list.

A report by Billboard also stated that the ranking was created based on Instagram analytics, with many of the top-earning furry friends having climbed the ranks of wealth through fame on social media.

Here’s a look at these feline celebrities:

1. Nala Cat

The world’s richest cat is Nala Cat, who has a line of premium cat food under her name, and is worth $100 million. The Siamese and Tabby-mix feline is owned by Shannon Ellis and Pookie Methachittiphan and has over 4.4 million followers on Instagram alone.

2. Olivia Benson

Taylor Swift’s cat, Olivia Benson, is the second richest cat in the world worth $97 million. And, the feline has “earned it”. The Scottish Fold cat is also the third richest pet in the world.

For A-list animals such as Olivia, however, involvement in outside projects was taken into account, the report said adding that “Olivia has found success outside of the world of Instagram influencing. The Scottish Fold earned her fortune starring alongside her owner in several music videos, has crafted her own merchandise line, and has had cameos in many big-budget ads, including for the likes of Diet Coke and Ned Sneakers.”

3. Choupette

Choupette the Birman cat’s owner is none other than the late German fashion designer and owner of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld. While Lagerfeld’s net worth amounts up to a whopping $300 million, his feline companion, who he said he “would marry if it was legal” inherited $13million.
