Emirati footballers face fines over $54,000 each for national training camp exit

Two Emirati footballers have faced a fine of AED200,000 each, for leaving an Abu Dhabi national team training camp, without permission.

The footballers, identified as Mohammed Hassan Al Shamsi and Abdullah Hamad Al Minhali, both of the emirate’s Pro League Al Wahda, will be suspended for four games.

The suspensions must be served for their club team, the UAE Football Association said, following the announcement made by the FA’s disciplinary committee on Tuesday.

However, the association did not reveal when the pair left the camp or any further information about the incident.
