Dubai sports events
103 international events and championships including the World Padel Championship, Dubai World Golf Championship, the World Tennis League, two tours of the world beach volleyball championship the Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup and Dubai Super Cup were held in Dubai.
Football giants such as Liverpool, Lyon and AC Milan visited the city in 2023. Arsenal also visited.
The number of registered companies specialised in the field of organising sports events and training camps increased to 700.
The number of sports academies increased to 400, while the number of gym centres and specialised physical fitness centres increased to 400 each.
The emirate continued its emergence as a sporting hub attracting events and athletes from around the world.
Various championships and events were held with the participation of more than 31,000 athletes, and in the presence of 713,000 spectators, most arrived from overseas.
165 local events were held with the participation of 1.77 million people from 200 nationalities and in the presence of 220,000 fans, representing an important addition to the sports tourism sector.
As well as sporting events there were also 12 major sports conferences and exhibitions, including the Dubai International Sports Conference and the Globe Soccer Awards.
Fifty-eight women’s events were organised, with a ratio of more than one event per week.
Respective bodies organised 31 e-sports competitions, considering that e-sport is witnessing remarkable development and distinguished participation of world athletes and corporates from overseas.
