Dubai Ruler and UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has congratulated Saudi Arabia on its historic victory of Argentina in the World Cup in Qatar.
Taking to Twitter following the victory at the Lusail Stadium, Sheikh Mohammed told his 11m followers on the social media site that the win as an “Arab joy”.
Giving congratulations to the Kingdom’s national team he shared his happiness with the win.
Historic Saudi win
“A deserved victory. Combative performance. An Arab joy. Congratulations to the Saudi national team who made us happy,” he tweeted.
The Arab nation defeated Lionel Messi’s Argentina at the World Cup in Qatar.
The victory is the biggest win in the history of Arab football, as the Kingdom defeated pre-tournament favourites Argentina 2-1.
Lionel Messi put Argentina ahead with a penalty in the 10th minute before the Kingdom levelled through Saleh Al Shehri.
In the 54th minute Salem Al Dawsari wrote his name into the World Cup history books and achieved sporting immortality to put Saudi Arabia ahead for the eventual win.
