Authentic Japanese fine dining restaurant Kohantei has opened in Dubai to offer visitors a traditional Kaiseki menu.
The multi-course concept comprises a series of dishes enjoyed over the course of two to three hours.
The menu was created by executive chef Hisao Ueda using unique seasonal ingredients sourced from Japan. It revolves around the old tradition of Omotenashi, the spirit of Japanese hospitality. However, guests also have the choice of a la carte dining featuring Japanese beef and seafood.
The restaurant located in Downtown is designed in Japanese architecture, with stories artwork, sliding shoji doors and tatami flooring, while the all-Japanese staff are dressed in traditional wear.
In respect to Japanese customs, and to accentuate the authentic experience, guests are required to remove their shoes inside the restaurant.
Kohantei features three private dining rooms and an intimate dining area with five exclusive tables.
