Dubai Opera to open first restaurant

Chef Sean Connolly will serve a simple, produce-driven menu in the 12,000 square foot restaurant

Dubai Opera is set to open its first restaurant by Chef Sean Connolly this September.

‘Sean Connolly at Dubai Opera’ will be a contemporary brasserie stretched across 12,000 square foot on top of the iconic building in Downtown Dubai.

The outlet will also be Connolly’s first in the Middle East. It will comprise a main restaurant, private dining room, chef’s table, bar and outdoor rooftop terrace that overlooks views of the Burj Khalifa.

The informal brasserie will boast a simple and produce-driven menu serving steak and seafood.

The interior will reportedly feature a pearl and cream color theme inspired by the shades of an oyster, as well as shell-like seating to complete the look.

British-born Connolly, who built a name for himself in New Zealand and Australia, where he is based, has over 25 years’ experience in the kitchen.

He currently has five restaurants, with the Dubai Opera venue to become his sixth. Connolly also hosted cooking TV series that were broadcast in 35 countries worldwide.
