All mobile phones in the Emirates have been approved in compliance with the pre-determined safety and security standards.

The UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has issued a statement affirming that all mobile phones in the country have undergone a rigorous approval process to ensure compliance with security and safety benchmarks.

This initiative was carried out following several media reports regarding the safety of certain mobile phone models. The approval process includes the assessment of electromagnetic radiation to ensure user health and safety concerns.

Based on the latest update from the authority, all mobile phones in the Emirates have been approved in compliance with the pre-determined safety and security standards.

The UAE’s Telecommunications Law, officially known as Federal Law No. 3 of 2003, criminalises the utilisation, sale, offer for sale, or connection of any telecommunications device that lacks ‘Type Approval.’

This framework is designed to safeguard public health and safety, mitigate electromagnetic interference generated or received by RTTEs, promote the efficient utilisation of the radio spectrum, and safeguard the integrity of public telecommunications networks.
