Dubai is quickly emerging as a hotspot for the vegan movement, House of Vegan boss Darren Awol said.
Dubai is already a melting pot of culinary experiences, with food and beverage explicitly singled out as one tool to increase the emirate’s tourism. The city has embraced global flavours and cultural influences, providing a perfect foundation for the flourishing vegan market. A portion of their efforts were seen to come to life at the six-month world event, Expo 2020 Dubai.
House of Vegan Dubai aims to cater to the growing market for vegan cuisine. The establishment currently offers a variety of food options including protein substitutes, a colourful selection of fresh vegetables and an assortment of plant-based delights like Bulgar wheat, Quinoa, Plantain, Coconut Dumplings, and Pumpkin.
House of Vegan Dubai first emerged as a fresh fast-food concept with an urban twist, its chief executive officer Darren Awol said.
Armed with a newfound appreciation for the benefits of veganism, Darren ventured into the food industry and launched a vegan restaurant in London called CariVegan, which specialises in Caribbean vegan cuisine.
However, his travels to Dubai exposed him to a health-conscious community, inspiring him to expand his culinary horizons.
“I believe that food is not just nourishment for the body, but also for the soul. Our brand is committed to creating delicious and wholesome plant-based options that not only satisfy your taste buds but also support your health and the environment,” he said.
Dubai’s vibrant lifestyle which includes a thriving fitness community further contribute to the city’s appeal as a hub for vegan food. As more individuals embrace healthier lifestyles, the demand for vegan options has skyrocketed.
House of Vegan Dubai recognises this growing interest and has established itself as a delivery-only service, ensuring that their delectable dishes reach customers throughout the city, Awol explained.
