Andrew and Tristan Tate’s car collection, estimated to be worth over $5 million has been seized by Romanian authorities, several properties where the brothers resided has also been seized, a Romanian news agency reported.
Among the 11 cars seized is a Bugatti Chiron worth an estimated $3 million, a Rolls Royce Wraith worth around $400,000. Other cars include a Porsche and Aston Martin.
The cars were allegedly seized to sustain the cost of the investigation and could be used as “collateral to fund any payments to their alleged victims,” said Ramona Bolla, a spokesperson for Romania’s DIICOT investigations agency, reported the Insider.
She said that the authorities were investigating on if the cars were purchased using funds acquired from human trafficking.
The controversial personality brought the multi-million dollar Chiron to Dubai and drove the car around the city during his time here, gaining much popularity on social media.
Andrew Tate still remains in custody following his arrest in Bucharest, on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group.
Tate was arrested along with his brother Tristan and two other Romanian suspects after a raid on their properties in the Romanian capital.
Prosecutors stated that six women were found who had been exploited by the suspects. Currently, two of the six women in the case are civil parties to the lawsuit, damages claimed are still unclear.
Tate is banned from several social media platforms for his misogynistic comments and hate speech. He recently said women are partially responsible for being raped and that they belong to men.
Earlier this week, Arabian Business reported that a Dubai-based ex-MMA fighter and YouTuber released a video on Saturday claiming that controversial influencer Andrew Tate is innocent following his high-profile arrest in Romania.
In a video titled ‘The Arrest of Andrew & Tristan – Tam Khan’s Message’, Tam Khan, better known as TK Talks, explains why he thinks his friend of over 15 years, Andrew Tate, is innocent and supposedly being set-up.
Andrew Tate and the other suspects were initially held for 24 hours, which was then extended to 30 days, as decided by the Romanian court.
