The global premiere of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is set to open the Dubai International Film Festival on Wednesday, with the Gulf city taking a starring role on the big screen.

From Tom Cruise’s heart-stopping stunts on the Burj Khalifa to the sight of Dubai International Financial Centre being engulfed by an epic sandstorm, the emirate plays a key role in the film.

Tom Cruise, star of the billion-dollar film franchise, will be walking the red carpet in Dubai tonight at the premiere, joined by co-stars Simon Pegg, Paula Patton and Anil Kapoor.
