Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has launched its latest route to Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent

It means the UAE’s low-cost airline will fly three days a week to the largest city in Central Asia from as little as AED179.

Flights will begin in January and are already on sale on the carrier’s website.

Michael Berlouis, Managing Director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi said: “We look forward to expanding Wizz Air Abu Dhabi operations even further by adding Tashkent to our ever-growing network and the new route will further strengthen the connectivity between Abu Dhabi and Central Asia.

The largest city in Central Asia and the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent is one of the main travel and trade hubs along the Silk Road, attracting tourists and business from various regions around the world.

Michael Berlouis added: “Wizz Air Abu Dhabi continues to play a pivotal role in contributing to the growth of the UAE’s travel and tourism sector and connecting its capital with many marvellous destinations.

“This falls in line with our expansion plans and our commitment to providing the travel market with affordable options for travellers to explore an eclectic mix of new destinations.”

Strategically located in the UAE, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi provides low fare travel to destinations across the GCC and beyond. The airline has a young fleet composed of six brand new state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Wizz Air has been expanding its network with flights from Abu Dhabi to Maldives launched and Saudi Arabia and Italy announced in the past few weeks.
